What is a Dashboard in NetSuite?

NetSuite ERP lets you create unique dashboards to maximize work efficiency by displaying all the required data in a presentable summarized manner. NetSuite provides a default dashboard that can be customized as per customer needs and requirements. Let’s read further to learn more about Dashboard and its features.

NetSuite displays diverse tabbed pages that are unique to each user as per their work and role. These tabs are called Centers. Each center provides different information and connects one user to another user performing the same role. These centers help to find pages and links that are required to perform their jobs.

As we said, Center is unique to each user- it provides a collection of real time data in the form of a dashboard. The Dashboards provide correct and instant information as they work. Dashboards perform the function of a virtual workspace. Along with the Home Page, most pages in NetSuite display a dashboard.

The information in a dashboard is shown in Portlets. These portlets are dynamic data display windows as they showcase information in both forms- raw data and summarized form. Key-performance indicators, trend analysis, performance scorecard, report snapshots and different types of graphs are a few ways in which the portlets display data to maximize ease.

Administrators have an option to customize pages in dashboards and publish them to the users that are performing the same role. It enables the users to find all the required work-related information in one place. The access to the dashboard depends on the roles that the users are performing. It depends on the administrators to give access to the users for customizing the dashboard further.

It is imperative to have an understanding about the following functions to use and set-up dashboards:

  • Various types of content and information available.
  • Steps to modify the dashboards for the required results.
  • Steps to publish the dashboard to a group of users.

Always refer to the official NetSuite documentation for detailed and specific guidance based on your NetSuite version. Additionally, you may want to involve your NetSuite administrator or seek assistance from NetSuite support for any specific challenges you encounter during the setup process.
